John Blankenship worked as a Master Trainer for 24 Hour Fitness in the Seattle area for 7 years before moving to Kauai 5 years ago. He began his journey to becoming a personal trainer while pursuing a degree in Psychology from San Diego State University. His interest in helping people change their lives sparked John’s studies in counseling and psychology. It was only after graduation that he melded his passions for psychology and the health and fitness world. He wanted to help people transform the mind and body through physical fitness in a fun and supportive atmosphere.
He was raised in the Pacific Northwest and played many sports growing up, among them football and baseball through high school. Today he plays in and organizes the Kauai Adult Baseball Club. You can find him playing basketball in Kilauea, soccer at Lydgate Park and tennis.
One of the things John enjoys most is working with all types of clients. He has trained fire fighters, pregnant women, post rehab injuries, hockey players, cancer patients, motor cycle racers, physical therapists, soccer players, massage therapists, stroke victims, boat racers, post back injury, fused spines, golfers, runners, bikers, military, professional scuba divers, people with chronic pain in their head, shoulders, knees and toes, people with arthritis, high school football players, doctors, dancers, volleyball players, surfers, stand-up paddle boarders as well as other personal trainers.
